MASTER’S SUN
Rating: 10/10
Themes: Ghost Sightings, Trauma & Healing, Enemies-to-Lovers, Horror-Romance, Redemption, Supernatural Mystery
One of the best horror K-dramas I’ve ever watched — hands down. As a horror enthusiast, this show hit every nerve in the best way possible. After binge-watching it, my sister and I literally woke up at 3 AM every night for a week without any reason. That’s how creepily effective it was!
But what makes this drama legendary is how it balances its genres. It’s not just spooky — the romance is soul-gripping, the acting is perfect, and the cast chemistry is on point. Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sub are a duo I didn’t know I needed, but now I can’t imagine anyone else pulling this off.
Each ghost story comes with its own haunting sadness or unfinished business, and the way those narratives intertwine with the characters’ emotional growth? Chef’s kiss. Even the supporting leads had depth and charm — not just fillers, but actual people with arcs you care about.
The OSTs are hauntingly beautiful, sticking with you long after the final episode. This is the kind of drama that makes your spine tingle and your heart ache — all in the same scene.
I’ve already rewatched it three times and I’d do it again without a second thought.
Available on Netflix and Viki.
Highly recommended if you're into horror with heart and romance with ghosts. 👻💙
