MONSTROUS

👻 Review: Monstrous – 5/10
As a horror fan, I was definitely intrigued going into this movie. But let’s get one thing clear—it’s not scary. If you’re expecting traditional jumpscares and eerie creatures, you won’t get them here.

BUT what Monstrous does deliver is a heavy, haunting take on mental health and grief. Christina Ricci’s character really carries the emotional weight—watching her cling onto the idea of hope while everything around her feels hopeless was painful yet compelling. You could feel the loneliness, the desperation, and how her son was her last thread of happiness. It hits hard if you’ve ever felt that kind of quiet devastation.

It’s more psychological than paranormal, and the real monster here is what the mind tries to escape from.

Rating: 5/10
Not scary enough for the horror rating it claims, but emotionally? It’s got depth. Watch it not for the chills—but for the feels.
