Rooftop prince

ROOFTOP PRINCE
Rating: 9/10
Themes: Time Travel, Fate & Destiny, Past-Life Connections, Light Comedy, Tragedy, Found Family

I watched this drama on my sister’s recommendation — and I’m so glad I did. Rooftop Prince is one of those dramas that surprises you with how well it’s written. The time-travel element is done in such an endearing and clever way that you can’t help but be drawn in.

Han Ji Min’s character is, yes, a bit of a damsel in distress and frustratingly naive when it comes to her sister’s intentions, but she has a good heart — kind, genuine, and truly lovable. You want her to be happy. And Park Yoochun as the Crown Prince? Smart, composed, totally in control — your classic swoon-worthy male lead with brains and presence.

The real charm though? The three royal guards who time travel with the prince. Their confusion in the modern world, their hilarious one-liners, and the way they form this adorable found-family dynamic? Absolutely precious. I couldn’t stop smiling every time they were on screen.

Despite the humor and the light tone in many scenes, the story carries emotional weight. There's a tragic undertone that creeps up on you, and when the layers start unraveling — oof, it hurts good.

Beautifully balanced, tightly plotted, and emotionally satisfying.
Available on Netflix — and yes, definitely give it a watch.
