Monster
🧠 Review: Monster – 10/10 🩺🔪
The only anime that can actually surpass Death Note for me—and that’s saying a lot. Monster is an intense psychological thriller, but it's so much more than just a cat-and-mouse chase. This anime dives deep into the darkness of human nature and manages to portray it with frightening brilliance.
The storytelling is sharp and haunting. Every episode adds to the tension, making you question morality, justice, and what it really means to be a good person. Dr. Tenma—what a character. I loved him so much. His journey is tragic, inspiring, and thought-provoking all at once.
And can we talk about the female representation? So rich, so layered. The women in Monster are strong, complicated, flawed, and real—they’re not there to serve the male lead’s journey; they’re driving their own. Loved that.
The anime also gives a nuanced look at class differences, cultural tensions, and historical trauma, especially in a post-war European setting. Every character, no matter how minor, feels like a fully fleshed-out person. The writing is just chef’s kiss.
Themes:
– Morality and identity
– Psychological trauma and manipulation

Rating: 10/10
A slow-burn masterpiece that crawls under your skin and stays there. If you want an anime that challenges your mind and your heart, Monster is unmissable.
