Voice series S1 - S4
🌟 Review: Voice Series (Season 1–4) 🔊🕵️♂️
Rating: Solid watch, with major highs... and some serious lows.
Let me just say—I was in love with Do Kang Woo’s character. Complex, emotionally layered, and surprisingly relatable. He was written so well, and the way he was portrayed? Absolutely brilliant. Every scene with him had a certain weight, and honestly, he carried the show for me.
The storyline across the seasons was strong overall. High-stakes, intense, and fast-paced—everything you’d want from a crime thriller. BUT... I have to point this out: the number of stupid decisions characters made in life-or-death situations drove me up the wall. Like, why would you leave an important witness alone just to take a phone call in the next room? Haven’t y’all learned anything after four seasons? That kind of writing really tested my patience.
Season 4, though... sigh. I watched it immediately after finishing the earlier seasons, but the vibe just wasn’t the same. Do Kang Woo’s death? A huge disappointment. His character had so much depth—it didn’t feel right to write him off like that. After that, something was missing. And don't even get me started on the mute sister subplot. So many reckless, avoidable decisions. It felt like they were trying to get her killed.
Also—can we talk about how everyone avoids shooting the actual criminal but has no hesitation shooting a police officer in the head? Like what?! That part made no sense. His mental health was clearly unstable, yet that was totally brushed aside.
The main villain of Season 4 and the concept behind it had potential, but the story felt too predictable. There wasn’t much mystery to solve, and it just became repetitive and dull after a point. The new male lead didn’t really leave a mark on me either. Here's hoping Voice 5 brings back the suspense and tight writing that made the earlier seasons shine.
