HIS (Movie) – 6/10
BL / Japanese Movie / Slice of Life
This one had potential… but it fell a little flat for me.
It’s slow-paced, almost too slow, and although it tried to explore real issues—like custody battles, acceptance, and rekindled love—it didn’t hit the emotional depth I hoped for. The chemistry between the leads was there, but it felt more like lingering nostalgia than passion. Maybe that was the point, but it left me feeling a bit… underwhelmed.
The cinematography was beautiful though—very typical of Japanese storytelling. Quiet, minimalistic, and emotionally restrained. But I guess I wanted more—more vulnerability, more confrontation, more rawness.
Watch it if you like mellow, grounded stories with a tinge of realism.
But if you're in it for the feelings to hit hard—this one might not land.
