This one’s tough to rate. On the surface, it has the classic sweet BL vibes that many fans were initially drawn to, but scratch beneath that layer and the problematic tropes start stacking up. One of the biggest issues I had was the casting—Perth was only 17 during this, and that just doesn’t sit right, especially considering the nature of some scenes. It makes the whole thing feel unsettling in retrospect.

Add to that the usual questionable elements: poor communication, manipulative behavior masked as love, and a few plot points that honestly didn’t age well. Some of the relationships felt more like emotional entanglements than healthy love stories.

While the chemistry between certain characters was there, it often got overshadowed by the drama-for-drama’s-sake storytelling. The show had potential, but it leaned too heavily on tropes that should’ve been left behind.

A mixed bag—sweet moments, but a lot to side-eye.
