The Eclipse (2022) – 10/10

Starring: First Kanaphan, Khaotung Thanawat
Episodes: 12
Genre: School mystery, coming-of-age, romance

FirstKhaotung—the couple we never knew we needed, but now can’t imagine the BL world without. Their chemistry in The Eclipse is electrifying, yet deeply nuanced. From the first episode, this series sets itself apart—not just with its intriguing mystery and political undertones, but with the emotional gravity that builds slowly between the leads.

The plot centers around a strict all-boys school plagued by a mysterious “curse” that punishes students who go against rigid rules. But at its heart, The Eclipse is a story of rebellion, freedom, identity, and love that dares to bloom in the shadows of control.

First (as Akk) delivers a performance full of internal conflict—torn between duty and emotion, suspicion and yearning. And Khaotung (as Ayan)? A revelation. His portrayal of grief, rebellion, and quiet vulnerability is just breathtaking. Every scene they share pulses with tension, unspoken tenderness, and eventual trust.

The series blends social commentary with romance seamlessly. It explores themes of institutional oppression, self-discovery, and the courage it takes to stand up—not just for love, but for what’s right.
