Love is Science?

Love is Science? – 8/10

Taiwanese Drama • 2021 • Romance / Office Drama with a BL subplot

Though Love is Science? is primarily a heterosexual office romance drama, it surprised many BL fans with a refreshingly engaging BL subplot that genuinely holds its own.

💼 The main storyline follows Yan Yue and her entangled love life while managing a matchmaking agency. While the straight couple’s romantic tension and misunderstandings carry the central narrative, many BL viewers—including me—were drawn to the show for its secondary couple.

🌈 Fu Yong Jie (Simon Lien) and Xia Yao (Charles Tu) bring heartfelt acting and warm chemistry to the screen. Their slow-burn, well-developed relationship arc adds emotional weight and balance to the series. It’s not just tacked-on fanservice—it’s thoughtful, emotional, and honestly, better executed than many mainline BLs.

💖 The performances are genuine, the writing avoids too many clichés, and the emotional payoff is worth the wait.

Rating: 8/10 – Came for the BL, stayed for the chemistry. A non-BL drama that treats its queer romance with surprising care and realism.
