Racket Boys

Racket Boys (2021)6/10

This was a sports youth drama that had its moments. The story revolves around a group of middle school boys in a rural village who form a badminton team under the guidance of a new coach. There were plenty of funny and emotional scenes, and the young cast delivered commendable performances.

Tang Jun-sang portrayed Yoon Hae-kang, a city boy who moves to the countryside and rekindles his passion for badminton. Son Sang-yeon played Bang Yoon-dam, the enthusiastic team captain with dreams of social media fame. Choi Hyun-wook as Na Woo-chan and Kim Kang-hoon as Lee Yong-tae added depth and charm to the team dynamics. The adult cast, including Kim Sang-kyung as coach Yoon Hyun-jong and Oh Na-ra as Ra Yeong-ja, provided solid support.

While the series had its strengths, it didn't fully captivate me. At times, the pacing felt slow, and certain episodes lacked excitement. However, I appreciated that romance was minimal, which suited the story's focus on friendship and personal growth.

Overall, it's a decent one-time watch, especially for fans of sports dramas. For me, it was good but not entirely my genre.
