Takara-kun to Amagi-kun (2022)

Takara-kun to Amagi-kun (2022) – 8/10

Japanese BL • High School / Coming-of-Age / Secret Relationship

This adorable high school romance follows Takara (Sato Arata)—the popular, aloof student who secretly dates the sweet and earnest Amagi (Oriyama Nao). Set against the backdrop of school corridors and cultural norms, this show focuses on the emotional highs and lows of first love, especially in a society where same-sex relationships still remain unspoken.

Their romance is sweet, awkward, and genuinely heartwarming. While the pace is sometimes slow and the storytelling a bit minimalistic, it matches the tone of two boys figuring out their emotions and what love really means. The childlike innocence and light drama make it a comfort watch for fans of soft, school-set BLs.

Despite some emotional immaturity from the characters (understandable given their age), the performances feel grounded, and their chemistry evolves in a natural, shy kind of way that’s quite endearing.

Rating: 8/10A cute, soft high school BL with a relatable touch of secrecy, insecurity, and tenderness. Perfect for when you're in the mood for something gentle and warm.
