Unknown: The Series – 6/10

This drama started off strong. The initial pacing, the intriguing storyline, and the emotional pull all promised a solid series. It had my attention from the get-go, and I was genuinely curious about how the plot would unfold.

But somewhere near the end, it lost me. The resolution felt rushed, almost like they were trying to tie up loose ends a bit too neatly, and in doing so, the emotional weight just didn’t land. Especially the storyline around the female lead—watching a young, talented woman abandon a shining career for marriage and motherhood felt unsettling. It’s a personal preference, yes, but I find it hard to digest when dramas still reinforce that narrative, especially without enough emotional exploration or choice-based framing. It felt regressive and a little forced.

Now coming to the main BL couple—the chemistry was there, the acting was earnest, and I did enjoy their dynamic initially. But the acceptance and shift in the older brother’s attitude came too fast, and because of that, I couldn’t fully connect with his character arc. It felt emotionally detached—like we missed a few essential internal struggles or key conversations that could've made his change of heart believable.

In the end, while the show had potential and some genuinely good performances, it just didn’t hit the emotional payoff I was hoping for. A decent watch, but not one that stayed with me.
