Love Sea (2024)
Love Sea (2024) – 5/10
I started watching Love Sea mainly for FortPeat and the promise of steamy scenes, but honestly, it turned out to be quite a letdown. The pacing was so slow that watching new episodes every Sunday felt more like a chore than entertainment.
I had high expectations for Peat, especially in emotional and vulnerable scenes, but his performance didn't convince me. His portrayal of Tongrak, a wealthy romance novelist, lacked depth in moments that required genuine emotional expression.
There were numerous plot holes that were hard to overlook. For instance, Tongrak's mother, despite being portrayed as powerful, was conspicuously absent, even when her ex-husband was harassing their children. It didn't make sense that she wouldn't intervene.
Moreover, Tongrak's character, being affluent, lived in a bungalow without a single servant. And despite his wealth, he seemed powerless against his father's threats and harassment. Why couldn't he use his resources to protect himself, just as his father did by sending goons after him? It felt illogical and frustrating.
Another aspect that bothered me was Meena, Tongrak's niece. Her excessive involvement in her uncle's love life felt unnatural and, frankly, a bit unsettling. It's unusual for a child to be so deeply invested in an adult's romantic affairs.
Overall, while the series had potential, it didn't resonate with me. It's a one-time watch, and I wouldn't revisit it.
