Watched Douluo Continent for Xiao Zhan, and honestly? I’m so glad I did. This drama was such an enjoyable ride — I already have a soft spot for xianxia and wuxia, and this one ticked a lot of boxes for me.

One of the things I absolutely love about well-made Chinese fantasy dramas is how every single character has their own storyline, their own purpose, their own motivation. It’s not just about the lead running around doing everything while side characters exist to clap for him. And Douluo Continent does this strategically and effectively. Every battle, every decision feels earned — and the teamwork aspect really stood out. Just because Xiao Zhan plays the lead doesn’t mean he solves everything alone — and I loved that.

Also — let’s be honest — Xiao Zhan’s ethereal beauty is more than enough motivation to keep watching. He looks like he walked out of a dream, and he carries the character with such quiet strength and emotion. Not just pretty — he acts.

And yes, I know it’s not complete yet. I heard there’s a second season coming, and I’m already waiting for it like 👀. The way it ended, I need more.

Final thoughts:
8/10 — solid world-building, strategic storytelling, and Xiao Zhan doing what he does best: making us fall in love with every scene he’s in. A must-watch for xianxia lovers and Xiao Zhan fans alike.
