 Eternal Butler – 7/10

A surprisingly fresh concept, and I’ve got to give Taiwan credit for trying something a little different. It stood out right from the start—mysterious, a bit dramatic, with a slightly gothic flair that pulled me in. Definitely not your average, slow-paced slice-of-life BL (thank goodness, because those bore me to death).

The acting wasn’t perfect—there were moments that felt a bit stiff or overly theatrical—but it didn’t ruin the experience. In fact, the uniqueness of the story helped carry it through. The dynamic between the leads was intriguing, and the butler–master setup gave it a nice emotional tension without falling into the usual clichés.

Overall, not bad at all. A solid effort that felt fresh and atmospheric, even if a few things could’ve been done better. I’d rather watch this kind of offbeat attempt any day than sit through another bland, soul-searching slice-of-life with too many coffee shop montages.
