Till the End of the Moon
🌑 Till the End of the Moon – 10/10
“A tragic Xianxia that tore me apart, healed me, and left me speechless.”
One of the undisputed best C-dramas of 2023, and one that I’m so glad I didn’t skip. Honestly, it was a random comment on Reddit that nudged me to watch this—and I cannot thank that stranger enough because this drama consumed me.
From the very first episode, I knew this wasn’t going to be just another fantasy drama. It was dark, romantic, tragic, and beautifully painful. Luo Yunxi as the tormented god-turned-devil Tantai Jin was absolutely phenomenal. The way he portrayed pain, restraint, and longing... I could feel it through the screen. And Bai Lu? She was equally captivating as Li Susu, strong yet heartbreakingly vulnerable. Their chemistry—so intense, so layered. It wasn’t just romance—it was soul-deep connection amidst destiny, duty, and sacrifice.
The story was crafted with care—rich with lore, tension, and deeply emotional moments. The world-building was exquisite. The fight scenes, the dream sequences, the reincarnation arcs—all of it tied together like a woven myth. Every time you think you can breathe, the story pulls you back under with another twist, another heartbreak.
And can we please talk about the visuals and costumes? This drama was like poetry in motion. Every frame looked like a painting. The ethereal sets, the glowing orbs, the divine robes, the flickers of flame—it was just visually intoxicating.
Special shoutout to Chen Duling, who played the villain so well I genuinely hated her. She made me want to scream, and that’s a testament to how chillingly good her performance was. Her character was despicable, and she leaned into that evil with such poise that you couldn’t help but appreciate the depth she brought.
And the angst—oh, the angst! This drama was a masterclass in tragic storytelling. It made me feel everything. The love was painful, the sacrifices were gut-wrenching, and the ending left me in emotional shambles—but in the best way possible. I don’t even care if I cried like a fool, because this drama deserved it.
A timeless fantasy drenched in emotion, pain, and epic love. I’ll remember this one for a long, long time.
