I Promised You the Moon
I Promised You the Moon – Rating: 10/10
What a fantastic and deeply realistic sequel to I Told Sunset About You. This isn’t just a continuation—it’s a raw, unflinching portrayal of growth, identity, and the painful but necessary evolution of young love. It captures the bittersweet transition from adolescence to adulthood with stunning emotional clarity.
Bilkin and PP are nothing short of phenomenal. They don’t just act—they become Teh and Oh-aew. Their performances are layered, vulnerable, and heartbreakingly honest. The chemistry they share is unmatched, and they breathe life into every subtle glance, argument, and moment of silence.
The storyline is grounded in reality. It doesn't romanticize or sugarcoat the struggles that come with ambition, distance, miscommunication, and self-discovery. It allows its characters to make mistakes, to grow apart and together again in ways that feel painfully authentic.
The cinematography and direction are just as stunning as in the prequel, with a slightly more mature tone reflecting the characters’ shifting worlds. Every episode feels like a piece of poetry—quiet, aching, beautiful.
A masterpiece in its own right. I enjoyed every second of it and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who values emotionally mature storytelling in BL dramas.
